The DynaView VSU is a Direct Attach Storage (DAS) storage device that is purpose built for IP Video storage.
This high performance appliance is specifically designed to meet up to the intense task of storing large numbers of IP Video streams simultaneously. Each DynaView VSU can be populated with up to 16TB RAID 1, and up to 2 VSU’s can be connected to a single EDGE or ENTERPRISE server.
The DynaView VSU allows for simple storage expansion for archive retention or increased frame rates.

DynaView VSU - Why RAID 1?
|
- Simple rebuild process upon hard drive failure, all data is identically mirrored on both hard drives in the array for redundant protection of all recorded video.
- Physically remove a hard drive at any time without causing any downtime. Provide authorities with the actual hard drive the video was recorded on, retaining the chain of evidence. Video can be played back on any PC with USB drive carriage.
- Simply replace the removed drive and the RAID1 will auto-rebuild. Video will continue to store normally during array rebuild process.
- Less video streams stored per drive letter. Improved load balancing as compared to other RAID levels that consolidate drives on to one stripe or drive letter.
- Low failure rate. For example, consider a RAID 1 array with two identical models of a disk drive with a 5% probability that the disk would fail within three years. Provided that the failures are statistically independent, then the probability of both drives failing (with no replacements for 3 years) is 0.25%.
- High Performance, industry proven reliability.
